CoCA is a place where anything can happen.

When I first got to New Zealand I came on a tourist visa. This meant I was not able to work, not WOOF, not even HelpX. So it was hard to meet new people, and even more, get involved with arts and design. So after surfing and searching all possible ways to get involved in CHCH community I saw the light. A place where I could feel useful, where I could meet new interesting people and feel the NZ creative spirit closer.

I helped in venues, worked at reception, made posters for artists and helped putting up the latest exhibition of David Shrivels "Loose your mind".

I strongly recommend volunteer as an experience. Not only gets you close to the community you are settleting, but also as an opportunity to meet new extraordinary people.
